083/2014 : 8 week joy

8 weeks into my time at ASDA today and all went well. Had my 8-week validation and it looks like everything is going well. I received some decent feedback so it is all very positive.

Luckily my back wasn’t too bad this morning. That being said, it wasn’t all that cracking either. It was still niggling but we stuck the heated wheat bag on it first thing and I popped a couple of painkillers and it all seemed OK. After I had driven into work it was still giving me some stick but sitting in my special chair at work certainly made it a lot better.

Started watching Masterchef New Zealand tonight as well as The Taste USA (which just seems waaaaay too over the top really)

082/2014 : Floored

Got out of bed this morning and my back was in complete and utter turmoil. I ended up almost collapsing onto the bathroom floor in agony. That wouldn’t have been too bad, but however I moved meant it tweaked my back, causing more and more pain…oh and to make matters worse…I was naked!

I had visions of having to wait for some paramedics to come and sweep me up off the floor whilst covering my modesty with a small towel (it only needs to be a small one) and sliding me onto a gurney before managing to get my back working again.

Whilst laid there I managed to pop a few painkillers and luckily the pain eased enough for me to unstick myself from the bathroom tiles and drag my sorry ass up onto my feet and slowly make my way downstairs to the comfort of the sofa. I can lay partially on my right side without experiencing too much pain.

Luckily, through the power of the microwaved wheat bag, the pain eased much more throughout the day.

So, naturally, most of the day was spent chilling and watching films and stuff on TV. We watched Catching Fire, the second Hunger Games film, before hammering out a few episodes of CSI.

Hopefully my Monday Morning back will be OK.

081/2014 : The jinx returns?

My back was in absolute bits again this morning. I have come to a poor conclusion that it absolutely positive might be the bed that’s causing it. Problem is, I don’t think laying on the sofa at night is going to help anything.

Didn’t go to the Leeds game. Absolutely no way could I stand up for that length of time. It was so painful. Didn’t even listen to the game as we were watching films. We won though. Which is completely insane but predictable. I wasn’t there. It’s well known that I am a complete Leeds United jinx

Watched a couple of films and played catchup as well as finally getting the laptops sorted out. Hopefully my back will be better tomorrow!

080/2014 : Last solo day

Woke up this morning in agony. My back had gone again. Not good it took me about half an hour just to get from the bed to the outside of the bedroom! I had to crawl on all fours to manage it before levering myself up on the staircase. Not good. Hope it doesn’t stay like this for long.

Last day flying solo at work. Mark back on Monday. Went up to our quarterly Big Brunch meeting where we get lots of information from the management regarding performance and figures etc. It was really interesting.

They always have an act perform. Today it was Kian Egan from Westlife who has recently released his solo album. He did two songs. They were both covers. The second was a Hooberstank song. The first was one I knew. It was a cover of a Daughtry track called “Home”. I love the original. I was probably the only one in the room singing along! Love it.

Hosted the Friday afternoon game in work which went down really well. It was just True or False. We played two rounds of it. Everyone seemed to really enjoy it.

079/2014 : New Toy

iPhone 5s arrived today. It’s a beautiful piece of equipment. Loving it already.

Will be recycling my old one shortly too. £110 back. Nicely nicely.

Watch Davina McCall’s Sport Relief challenge on BBC1 tonight. What a woman! Cycled, swam and ran from the top of the UK to London. 500 miles in 7 days. It made me donate a fiver anyway.

078/2014 : Old n New

Yesterday I did the merry dance of mobile phone upgrades. My new iPhone 5s will be here tomorrow. Cannot wait!

Got a new laptop from a lad at work today. Spent most of the night transferring files across from one to the other. Looking forward to getting it put in place and up to full speed. Just need to sort out Microsoft Office 😉

Getting £110 back for my old iPhone so that covered what the laptop cost me today. Win!

077/2014 : Save Us?!?

Who will save Leeds United now?

Massimo Cellino, who had supposedly been the man to take us back to greatness again, was found guilty of fraud today back in Italy. Unfortunately, the Football League’s “fit and proper” test says something about people with unspent convictions on the basis of untruths. So that’s Leeds up the shitter again. Can we afford to get out of this mess or are we looking at another points deduction and uncertainty about the future?

Watched Raw….awesome.

Watched The Walking Dead…best episode of the second half of this series.

Watched The Following…best episode of this entire second season.

075/2014 : Drop the Titan

Finally got around to playing Titanfall…about two hours later I breathed again!

Wow

Just pure carnage. It’s insane. Where the Call Of Duty games are geared more at people ducking around corners and firing off the odd shot here and there, Titanfall is so much different. It actively promotes the running around and shooting everything in sight.

The more you kill in a quicker time, te quicker your Titan comes. As soon as your Titan is here and you drop him into a fight, you hop on board and start blowing the shit out of grunts, spectres, pilots and even better, other Titans!

There’s explosions galore, you’ll be all over the place, you’ll be flung into the air from a dying Titan, and you will be walking across and hanging off walls.

Titanfall is mental. I love it!

074/2014 : Charlie And The Chocolate Factory

Headed down to London today on the coach with Elle’s work to see Charlie And The Chocolate Factory at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane.

Won £65 on the bandits in Watford Gap services. Nicely done.

Got dropped off in London and went for a bite to eat before heading to the theatre. We were really high up but could still see the show really well. And what a show it was. Songs, fun and Oompa Loompas! It really was a fantastic show and I would recommend it to anyone. The whole thing is put together brilliantly and the sets, especially in the second half of the show, are phenomenal.

Got back home about ten. Won £103 on the football with an accumulator, which was pretty good going.
