He’s back
Intrerestingly enough, early on in the film you see a bunch of guys playing a Back to The Future pinball….well the filmmakers have clearly hopped into a Delorean and fired it up to 88MPH as this movie takes place following the events of the original Halloween film. They have completely analysed and reversed everything that happened in Halloween 2, 3, 4 etc. This makes way for Laurie having been able to get tooled up and plot her ultimate revenge against the killer from 40 years ago.
All the newcomers to the series are great…credit where it’s due.
Also, the overall look and feel of the film is perfectly tied back into the 70s charm despite not actually being set back then.
The film though lacked something for me. There were a couple of suspenseful moments but not enough to make me say that it was scary in the slightest. Even the gore was overdone. One scene in particular was brutal and I didn’t feel like the film needed it.
3/5
