Getting into this cooking lark now.
Decided tonight to rustle up a meal which, I’ll be perfectly honest, I didn’t think would work.
I’d seen the recipe ages ago for “Big Mac In A Bowl” but never attempted it. But tonight was the night.
Here’s the recipe :
Big Mac in a bowl (serves 4)
500g extra lean minced beef
1 large onion (chopped)
4 tbsp extra light mayonnaise
4 tbsp tomato ketchup
8 gherkins (chopped) – Optional
iceberg lettuce (shredded)
8 slices dairylea light cheese slices – or any light cheese slices
salt and pepper
Place the minced beef and onion in a large pan and fry over a medium heat until beef is browned and the onions are soft, Season to taste with salt and pepper.
Mix the ketchup with the mayonnaise to make a burger sauce.
Layer up the dish by placing a handful of shredded lettuce in the bottom of the bowl then top with some of the minced beef mixture, Drizzle on some of the sauce and sprinkle on the chopped gherkins and top with two slices of the cheese.
It’s absolutely BLOODY brilliant! It tastes lovely and it literally like just having a Big Mac but without the bread and without the heart attack (allegedly). We served it with Slimming World Chips.
Here’s the finished product :
