Hello and welcome to the Morley Glen Buster League 2026/27.
I’ve run this personally for a few years and bringing it to the team is a great way to both raise a lot of money for the team, as well as giving you the opportunity to win some big money too.
This should raise over £1000 for the team with around £2400 being paid out to you in prizes…every penny paid in gets paid out to you or the girls’ fund.
What’s the Buster League?
The way it works is simple…the below can make it sound complicated, but it’s really not and you don’t even have to do anything except pay your weekly payment and hope your teams do well!
We need 46 players who are going to commit to just £1 a week for the full duration of 40 weeks of the season. When the football season starts on 14th August, all 92 teams across all 4 divisions (Premier League, Championship, League One and League Two) are randomly drawn so that every player gets two different teams and we start Game 1.
Every time a team scores a goal, they score a point in our league. We have a league table after each set of games showing how your teams are doing.
The game is strictly limited to 46 players ONLY. We cannot go above that unless we were in line to get 92 people playing, which is very unlikely.
How do you win?
At the end of any given day, if a team has landed EXACTLY on 21 goals, they win whatever the prize pot is at that point. BUT….if they go OVER 21 goals, they BUST and they are out of the game and cannot win anymore in this Game Period. Its only the first team to land on exactly 21 that wins. In the event that at the end of a day there’s more than one team on 21, the Prize Fund will be split evenly.
Once we have a winner, we then re-draw all the teams, everyone gets two new teams, everyone goes back to Zero, the Prize Pot goes back to Week One and we start again with Game 2. This keeps happening until the end of the season. The last game of the season is decided either by someone winning, or if no-one lands on 21, the team with the highest number of goals in that active game wins.
How much can you win?
With 46 players, there will be £46 every Friday going into the Pot. Every single penny will be going either into the Prize Fund or the Girls’ Team Fund.
The overall pot will be split with 70% of it going into the Prize Fund (£32.20) and 30% of it going directly into the Girls’ Team Fund (£13.80). So every week that the game is not won, the Prize Pot is increasing by £32.20. When a team wins with 21 goals, that prize pot will be split between the winner and the worst team in the league with the lowest amount of goals. See the table below to see the weekly splits.
Based on 46 players, and 40 of you playing the Bonus game, by the end of the 2026/27 football season, there will be £2,408 paid out to winners. See the table at the very bottom of this page to see the full breakdowns.
What’s the Bonus 6+ Game?
Alongside the main game is an extra game where you have the opportunity to win even more money. This is the Bonus 6+ Game.
For an extra £1 a week, your active teams will be entered into this separate game. If your team scores 6 or more goals in a single match anytime between the Friday and the Thursday in that week, they win that pot! So, lets say 40 of you decide to upgrade to the Bonus 6+ game, that pot will be split in the same way with 70% going to the Prize (£28) and 30% going to the Girls’ Team Fund (£12). In the event that one or more teams score 6 or more goals in a game in a week, the prize will be split.
At the end of the season, the final Bonus 6+ Pot will go to the team that scores the most goals in a game if there’s anything left over and no-one has scored 6.
How much will this raise for the team?
Based on 46 players, and 40 of you playing the Bonus game, by the end of the 2026/27 football season, this game will generate £1,032 for the Girls’ Team Fund. See the table at the very bottom of this page to see the full breakdowns.
How do I pay into the game?
I, Dave Woollin, Althea’s Dad, will be collecting and paying out all the money for this game to make it easy on Mandy as I already run my own personal one and have the relevant spreadsheets set up. Every week, I will be sending the Club money direct to Mandy to put into the Fund. I will hold the Prize Money and pay it out as soon as it’s won. Any interest made on the holding account in my bank will be added to the Team Fund (it won’t be much anyway).
You can pay into the game in a couple of ways. The entire season is 40 weeks and it is £1 per week for the Buster and an extra £1 a week for the Bonus 6+ Game. So you can either:
a) Pay in full up front for the entire season. This will be £40 or £80 depending on whether you are playing the Bonus game or not. To do that, you can pay direct by PayPal to either https://paypal.me/lufcpredictor/40 or to https://paypal.me/lufcpredictor/80 depending on which value you are sending. Alternatively, if you want to pay direct into the Bank Account where I hold the funds, drop me a message on WhatsApp on 07973834712 and I will send you my details. Once this is paid, I will confirm your entry into the game and add you to the list.
b) Pay in chunks – If you want to pay in batches of like £10/£20 etc, that’s all good…but I need you to keep in front of payments so I’m not chasing for back payments. If you want to do this, let me know and I will keep a note of this, add you to the game and you’re good to go and can start sending the payments when we are closer to the time.
c) Weekly Standing Order – If you want to pay £1/£2 per week by Standing Order, this is a good way of keeping the up-front cost down. If you want to do this, let me know and I’ll add you to the game, give you the bank details, and you will then be able to set up the standing order for 40 weeks from Friday 14th August and you will be good to go.
