Back to Elland Road today to watch the Yorkshire Derby of Leeds vs Sheffield Wednesday. Wednesday were coming to Leeds on the back of three 2-1 losses in their first three matches. Couple that with the results that Leeds have had so far, and it was never going to be a scoreless affair.
But the game suffered massively from Leeds’ lack of play to anyone able to put in a good cross. Why do we have no wide players at all.
We had all the early chances without threatening too much…but then a Corner to the back post, headed back across goal and headed in, and Leeds were 1-0 down.
And that’s how it ended up at half time.
Second half, we replaced Green, who had been having a shocking first half. But we replaced him with Tonge who is about as much use!
The brightest sparks in the game were Austin and McCormack, who popped up with a neatly taken goal to equalise.
And that’s how it ended. Both sides had chances but nothing really of any note. There were a few dubious decisions by the ref too. But it wasn’t to be a win for either team unfortunately.
