Page 321/365 : It’s Naturally Super

It’s a Sunday…so we started watching Supernatural that I had borrowed off Ro at work. I really enjoyed it and think it’s going to be great…Elle however didn’t and was shitting herself through it…so it’s probably going to be one I watch on my own.

I’m a Celeb started again. Plenty of comedy set to ensue in the next few weeks. Joey Essex is in there…the others might as well not even bother…he’ll win it easy.

Page 320/365 : Haworth

Up and about early doors ready for the day ahead. Had a cracking breakfast at Hollins Hall Hotel. There was loads on it. Can’t grumble at all. The plan was to fill up for the day.

We checked out and drove down to Haworth for the day.

Now, I have only ever been to Haworth once and it was to film a short film for a school production of Cabaret we were doing. We needed to film some segments that were going to be shown on big screens…except after we had filmed everything, the school hall burnt down…so we never did the show.

Back then, the only thing I ha seen of Haworth was the train station and a tea room opposite…so that’s what I thought we were going to see today…so imagine my surprise when we ended up in this quaint little place…

We had a walk around all the cute little shops and the Christmas market in the park too. Problem was, we didn’t have any cash on us and the nearest cash machine was miles away, so we didn’t buy anything.

We did stop into a coffee shop for a sandwich for lunch and a drink before heading home…thankfully they took card payments.

A thoroughly enjoyable weekend.

Watched The World’s End tonight, which was spot on.

Half day at work today. Headed over to Shipley to the Marriott Hollins Hall Hotel.

Remember back when I was on Tipping Point? (Click here to view) Well the golfing holiday I won was finally used. We checked in and used all the spa facilities. There was a pool, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna. It was lovely and relaxing.

We got ready and headed out to The Woolpack.

20131115-225631.jpg

This is the original pub in the original village they used to film Emmerdale in. They only ever used the exterior shots however.

But inside, the pub is lovely. We were greeted by lovely staff who showed us to our table an fully explained the two-courses-for-£11 offer that was on which we took them up on. I had Black Pudding and Bacon Stack and a main of a mixed grill. Elle had the potato skins followed by the meat pie. Everything was cooked to perfection and I would recommend this place to anyone.

We just chilled the rest of the night at the hotel. We watched Children In Need and I decided to branch out my drinking. Normally I will have Fosters or Carlsberg but I has picked up some different ones to try.

First up was Brooklyn Lager which was very nice but very “hop’y”.

20131116-081300.jpg

I then had a Samuel Adams Boston Lager. This tasted much smoother and easier to drink.

Next up was Barry Island IPA. This tasted much stronger and was my least favourite

…….and then I had a bottle of Jeremiah Weed Root Brew. Basically I love Root Beer, which is normally non-alcoholic, but this had a percentage and was gorgeous! I might’ve found my new favourite drink.

My Movember collection is now up to £40. I was expecting around £50 but at the halfway stage I would love to push for £100 worth of donations!!!! If you can donate even a quid, go to http://mobro.com/FameAsser

It was finally here. The WWE had finally come to Leeds. It had been a long time coming and only finally happened because we finally have an arena of our own, an arena to be proud of. The First Direct Arena is cracking. No bad views in the house. We were up in the gods but it was still amazing.

WWE Live was here and it was a cracking show. All the favourites were here from CM Punk, Daniel Bryan, John Cena, Alberto Del Rio, Great Khali, The Wyatt Family, 3MB, R Truth, The Usos and many more.

The crowd were buzzing, everything was good fun. I have been to many wrestling events before, and one thing I do love is that the fans all unite in their love for the product and there’s such a good atmosphere. John Cena even understood a “Yorkshire! Yorkshire” chant.

Love it.

Now…Wrestlemania 30 tickets go on sale shortly…….

Slight WWE reference for any of my wrestling pals.

Played loads of my hidden item game tonight and completed it whilst Elle watched round 73628 of the latest series of Australian Masterchef. That programme is going on forever…but it does have a cracking theme tune.

Chest playing up this afternoon and tonight. Heading to bed early to try to get some sleep.

Page 315/365 : Under The Dome finale

Under The Dome ended tonight on Channel 5. It’s been a decent series to be fair. Massively cheesy and hugely far-fetched, it’s perfect for Five.

It’s based on a Stephen King story. When the residents of Chester’s Mill are suddenly encased inside a huge dome, all hell breaks loose. With no contact with the outside world, the people rule themselves. Rioting and treachery are the order of the day as the community attempts to figure out what the hell is going on.

It’s worth watching for sure.

Page 314/365 : Lazy like Sunday morning, afternoon and night

It was another chill day today.

Caught up with the Jonathan Ross Show as well as watching last Monday’s Raw.

Went to the Crown Point and bought a couple of Christmas presents, including the last part of my secret Santa pressie.

Watched Now You See Me and because we were feeling Christmassy we watched Jack Frost. I cried like a bitch at the end. Also watched Kindergarten Cop, X Factor, Homeland and Karl Pilkington.

All in all, a chilled out, relaxing one. Good times

The Movember moustache is coming along nicely. £15 in the pot so far. Make sure you donate if you can. Even a quid will do! Click here to donate – it’s all for a cracking cause.

Page 313/365 : Fireworks and a wet bonfire

Leeds game today and a cracking away win broke our recent shite away record. Nice 4-2 victory to pick up the three points in a game which had been delayed by half an hour due to the weather and pitch inspections.

This evening we headed over to Elle’s dad’s for a bonfire and firework extravaganza. We bought some rockets to take over and there were plenty of others bought already.

Tom, John and I attempted to get the bonfire going…but it was a bit wet so it never properly got going. We kept trying though.

Then we annihilated the neighbourhood with the fireworks. One only just cleared the house! It’s a good job the bus wasn’t passing at the time that’s for sure.

The highlight of the fireworks was the “Dr Thrust” which went through numerous name alterations. My favourite was Dr Thrush!

It certainly made an impact….

We had chilli and jackets for tea before heading home.

Page 312/365 : Gravity

Watched film #1,237 at icheckmovies.com

Take two characters, put them alone in the largest space imaginable and see what happens when in peril.

What does happen is one of my favourite cinema experiences ever.

Gravity is the story of Ryan Stone (Sandra Bullock) and Matt Kowalski (George Clooney), two astronauts making essential repairs to the Hubble Space Telescope. Kowalski is a seasoned veteran of space travel. He has plenty of stories to tell, he knows how things should be done. Stone has had minimal training and just enough to get by to make the necessary repairs. She’s the technical lead on things.

But it all goes a little mental when those pesky Russians shoot out one of their own satellites, sending a cloud of debris into Earth’s orbit…and it’s heading straight for Kowalski and Stone who are soon left stranded and even more alone when they lose contact with Mission Control. And to make things worse…the debris has 90 minutes until it comes back around…

What follows is pure cinematographic perfection. The finest 3D ever to grace cinema screens takes you well into the journey and the sheer hell that the main characters go through.

And now a warning…for anyone who suffers motion sickness…be warned…there’s a lot of spinning and a lot of disorientation…this is space after all. Some of you may feel the effects of it.

But those of you who don’t, just strap in and enjoy the ride. Everything is stunning. The visuals are absolutely amazing. The sound department also do a fantastic job with the way sound carries (basically it doesn’t unless someone’s touching it then they would hear it). And Bullock and Clooney pull off a brilliant performance.

Bullock in particular takes everything to a whole new level. You sympathise with her, you care for her and her backstory and you find yourself rooting for her.

Clooney uses his dry wit to great effect too.

If you were in two minds whether or not to go see this on the big screen, let me out your minds at ease…you HAVE to see this at the cinema. Simple as that. And go see it in 3D too!

Brilliant. Massive. Stunning.

Go see it. Now!
