Lazy day today. Watched Tangled and played catchup with Corrie and The Big Reunion Christmas Special.
Then we decided to start watching Luther…and now officially love it. We smashed the entire first series, although it is only 6 episodes long, and watched the first episode of season 2 too.
Looking forward to watching the rest real soon.
Played a bit of FIFA 14 tonight. Only problem was that I decided to start to learn about the game a bit more by doing the skills test…and I came up against the short passing game.
The game is simple. You control four men within a square around the centre circle. All you have to do is string passes together and avoid the man in the middle. You needed 20 passes to get to “Semi-pro” level. About 90 minutes later and what must have been around a thousand attempts, I did it! Thinking I would have unlocked something and move onto the next level I got giddy…only to realise that you need to get to 80…yes…EIGHTY passes to unlock the legendary level. Basically, it’s never gonna happen!
Up early doors. Played loads of Call Of Duty Ghosts as well as FIFA 14. I am rubbish at FIFA when playing online!
Leeds vs Blackpool away today. Around 5000 Leeds fans made the trip to Blackpool for the match.
It wasn’t a particularly bad match but a draw was a fair result. Lee Peltier put Leeds in front but Ince equalised to earn both teams a point.
I did notice that a lot of red cards were shown today. I am sure it happens a lot on Boxing Day!
Yes! I got an Xbox One from Elle for Christmas! Win! I bought Elle and iPad as her main present.
Got tonnes of presents from family. Loving them all. I am writing this at the end of Boxing Day so can’t remember it all.
One of the highlights was Laura playing Beer Pong with Elle with cider on the go! Something I never thought I would witness!
Had to work today. Booooo! Went in early to make sure everything was done and still didn’t get away until 1pm! Booooooo!
Went to Amy & Tom’s for tea. Had picky-pokey tea but my stomach was well dodgy so I didn’t have too much. Booooooo!
Had our niece Megan over for the day. She decorated the Gingerbread House we had….I think she went a little bit crazy with the sweets…
Watched a couple of films with Megan before heading to the White Rose for a little bit of shopping and dinner at Frankie & Benny’s with the largest Milkshake a 4-year-old has ever had.
Dropped her off back at home in the evening before going home and watching the Homeland finale. Wow! That’s all I am saying.
This third series started off massively slow but it really picked up and ended on a huge high.
Mixed bag today.
Went to the Leeds vs Barnsley game with my Dad as James couldn’t make it. We went there early as there was a special promotion on for everyone who was in the stadium before 2:15 went into a draw to win the cost of their season ticket back. Unfortunately I didn’t win, but Brian who sits on the row in front of me did! £450 back. Cracking result for him!
Unfortunately though, the game wasn’t the best! The referee ruined it massively for both teams with some absolutely shocking decisions.
It finished 0-0.
After the game, Elle and I headed out to Leeds. We went to the Stick And Twist for a few beers an to meet up with Nath before heading into the First Direct Arena for the boxing event. Elle had won free tickets through work I didn’t really know what to expect. But I loved it!
There were a few local fighters first and then a title match for the vacant Bantamweight Championship.
We got rather drunk watching the event.
Stuey Hall beat Vusi Malinga on points to pick up the title in the main event. Cracking night all round.
Today felt like it should be the last day at work before the break up for Christmas, but alas, there’s still two days to go next week…although we’re hoping it’s an early finish on Tuesday!
Elle managed to bag some freebie tickets for the Boxing tomorrow night down at the Leeds Arena. Looking forward to that!
Went shopping for Christmas goodies after work, cashing in our £40 voucher at Morrisons…that soon went!
When we got home we realised that last night I had left the Freezer door open slightly – result was a load of ruined food. Oops!
Really got into the Christmas spirit tonight…watched Cool Runnings!
Today seemed to go on forever. Literally.
Work dragged it’s ass massively.
Second part of the Great Train Robbery programme was on tonight and was quality. Also, a Educating Yorkshire was back for a Christmas special.

Also wrapped Elle’s Christmas Presents before she got back from work. Just a week to go now until the big day. Getting giddy already! Haha.
Watched the Great Train Robbery programme on BBC tonight. It was the first of a two-parter, this first episode focussing on the Robbers and the actual robbery itself. Tomorrow night in the second part, it’s the story of the police who were trying to track them down.
Interesting that this show was set to air today and Ronnie Biggs died. Last week the premiere of the new Nelson Mandela film was showing as Nelson Mandela died. Rumours that a Justin Bieber film has been rushed into production are wildly unconfirmed. 🙂
